When Kokum’s friend went through cancer surgeries and chemo treatments, she bought a tablecloth stamped with patterns and flowers. They had people embroider while they visited even if all they could do was bring the needle up and go back down. Kokum spent lots of time doing this with her and talking. She is no more in this world now but ever since her death, that tablecloth is used for special friends gatherings.

It is wonderful to see who all worked on it and signed it. She becomes a part of all Kokum’s celebrations. Kokum found a way to keep her always there with herself.

The thought of someone now feels like first rays of warm sunshine felt on bare skin after a snowy winter: enlivening, emboldening, enlightening to her.

Kokum now feels she has a better understanding of herself and of the world. She has met someone who guides her closer to her purpose, who supports her in her endeavours.

Kokum is all Red and she is sure it is ‘Lal Ishq’

Kokum loves walking in the rain. She finds it a gift to go outside during the first hard rain after a long dry spell in the summer completely unprotested, no umbrella, no raincoat.

Kokum loves the smell of fresh rain on dirt and grass, She enjoys the sound and feel of water and enjoys the peaceful sound of the raindrops over her face.

For Kokum, rain is life.

As an introvert, Kokum does not like much attention. She is more comfortable with solitude rather than partying or get together. A quick dinner with a close friend or family is about as much attention she likes – socially.

Kokum loves animals and nature more than people and the world. She wishes she could disappear and go somewhere else with no worldly problems.
