One rainy afternoon, as the heavens opened up and raindrops fell like a gentle melody on the village rooftops, Kokum felt an irresistible urge to step out and join the rain dance.

Dressed in a ruffle saree, she ventured into the courtyard of her home. The raindrops had already soaked the earth, turning it into a lush playground for Kokum’s impromptu performance.

Kokum began to twirl and spin, her arms outstretched like a bird about to take flight. Her laughter mixed with the sound of rain as she moved gracefully, her feet splashing through puddles, leaving a trail of muddy footprints in her wake. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated joy. It was a celebration of the simple pleasures of life.

The thought of someone now feels like first rays of warm sunshine felt on bare skin after a snowy winter: enlivening, emboldening, enlightening to her.

Kokum now feels she has a better understanding of herself and of the world. She has met someone who guides her closer to her purpose, who supports her in her endeavours.
