Khesh Saree - The khesh weaving process is different. The warp is with new yarn and the weft is with strips of thin cloth obtained by tearing old sarees length wise. The old sarees are ripped into thin strips, which the weaver hangs alongside him for convenient access before using whatever one he chooses at random to weave with. The designer or weaver may only determine the colour of the warp, which is part of the fabric's allure. The weft's colour is entirely a matter of chance depending upon the experience of the weaver. One cannot fully comprehend how the colours from the previous sarees have merged into the new cloth until it has been sewn.
